The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has condoled with the government and people of Kogi state over the accident that purportedly claimed the lives of 30 people, most of whom are school children.
Aliyu, who is a Kogi indigene, expressed shock over the untimely death of the victims especially the school children, noted it was unfortunate development.
According to a statement from Special Assistant Media to the FCT Minister of State, Austine Elemue, Aliyu, expressed her “deepest sympathies to the Government and people of Kogi State especially the families of the victims of the inferno.
“I pray that in this difficult time, the love of God will continue to protect our people,” she said.
The Minister also described the tanker explosion as tragic, while calling on the state to pray for the souls of the departed.
She also called on the people especially students of the Polytechnic to remain calm and peaceful, stressing that the Government is aware of the gravity of the situation.
