The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi State.
He was addressing a huge crowd over the weekend, at the cradle of Igala kingdom in the ancient town of Idah, during the flag off campaign for the re- election of Governor Yahaya Bello.
He assured that the Muhammadu Buhari led administration was poised to change the narrative of the country for the better, adding that concerted efforts were being made to take the country to another level of development.
A visibly happy Vice President who was impressed with the large turnout of party faithful at the occasion, stressed the need for the continuation of the governor in office in the next four years, in view of his performance in office.
Governors Kayode Fayemi, the Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak of Kwara State, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State and Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State were in attendance, in solidarity with the host governor.
In a remark, Governor Yahaya Bello assured the people of the state that no effort would be spared in delivering democracy dividends to the people, and disclosed that after the huge success of the rally, they would be moving from village to village, so as to record a landslide victory in the November 16 election.
He thanked the people of the state for the confidence reposed in his administration, maintaining that no segment of the state would be left out in the scheme of things, in his developmental programmes.
The National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole had earlier in a remark, described Governor Bello as a tested and trusted politician, who has performed excellently during his first tenure, urging the electorates to massively support him.
He said the party’s candidate has passion for the sustainable development of the state, adding that he would not disappoint the people of the state if re elected
“If you know where this state was during the reign of the PDP and now, you will understand there is need to vote for Bello for continuity.
Bello has the capacity to translate his vision into reality and that is why I am appealing to you to vote for him during the election and he will not disappoint,” Oshiomhole pointed out.
Represented by the former Governor of Bauchi State, Muhammed Abdullahi Abubakar, Governor Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai, who is the Chairman of the National Campaign Council, said a vote for APC candidate during the election would bring about more development to the state.
