From Ahmed Idris, Birnin Kebbi

Kebbi state Commissioner for Health, Hussaini Raha has assured of government’s readiness to partner with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and donor agencies with a view to promoting health care delivery for the benefit of the people of Kebbi.

Speaking yesterday in his office while addressing an NGO, Kebbi Maternal Health Care Service (MCHCS), which paid him a courtesy visit, Raha noted that for any state to achieve the best in primary health care, it must collaborate with NGOs and other donor agencies.

He pointed out that Kebbi state government has achieved considerable success in the health sector, and especially the reduction of maternal mortality in the state; we are among the best in the country and in the North’’, he stated.

Raha further explained that by January next year, the newly constructed Kalgo Modern Hospital would be commissioned, as all necessary steps have been taken towards achieving the set goal.

Responding, the chairperson of the NGO, Mrs. Hajiya Maryam Mustapha, said that the aim of the organization is to ensure that women and children have access to good health-care service delivery.
