The Kebbi State Police Command has promoted 284 of its officers and men to their new ranks at the Command Headquarters, Gwadangwaji in Birinin-Kebbi metropolis.
In his speech at the decoration ceremony, the State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim M. Kabiru, expressed that the Inspector-General of police, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, in his wisdom approved the promotion of 284 Police Officers of the Command to their next ranks.
During the decoration ceremony one person was promoted from the rank of Superintendent of Police to his new rank of Chief Superintendent of Police, Six officers were promoted from the ranks of Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police.
Others promoted were, eleven Assistant Superintendent of Police to Deputy Superintendent of Police, while 266 Inspectors were elevated to their new rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police respectively.
CP Kabiru explained that the gesture of the IGP was part of his programmes for the members of the Police Force to boost their morale by rewarding their hard work at all times.
“I wish to reiterate the IGP commitment to the improvement and welfare of the Nigeria Police Force personnel. But to whom much is given much is expected. It is our hope that those promoted will justify the confidence re-imposed in them to redouble their efforts in their various area of responsibilities,” he added.
