The Kebbi State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) Umar Halidu Al Hassan has made a passionate appeal to Governor Abubakar Bagudu to convert the salary advance paid to the state workers in June, this year to loan and allow them to pay it back within six months.
Speaking to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi the state Chairman said that the best solution for the worker is for the government to revise the agreement by changing it to loan for the civil servants and make the deduction for 6 months.
“People are suffering, July is too far and if the government refused to assist them now civil servants would be in a serious problems and it will also reduce the workers suffering, “he added.
Al Hassan who also said further that they also want the state government to consider the workers by paying them annual leave grants for them to also feel sense of belonging within their separate families.
Our correspondent recalls that Kebbi State Governor paid the civil servants June salary advance for them to celebrate Allah festivities with their families.
Responding, the State Head of Service (HOS) Abubakar udus Idris thanked the labour for fighting for their workers, assuring them that their request would be forwarded to the governor for consideration.
He urged them to remain calm as this present administration is working hard to ensure success for the civil servants in the state.
