With the 2015 general election by the corner, the Conference of Political Parties (CNPP) in Kebbi state has presented a letter of support to Dr. Musa Mohammed Zagi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The CNPP is consisting of about 15 political parties namely; APGA, MPP, PDC, DPP, UPP, PPA, NCP, ACPN, LP, SDC, ID, UDP, NNPP, KOWA party and CPP.

Presenting their letter of support weekend in Argungu, during the declaration of Dr. Zagi for governorship position in the forthcoming 2015 general election, the chairman of the CNPP, Alhaji Umar Abubakari said that their support was based on his contribution to the emirate and the people of the state at large.

‘’We need a young man with a good mission, Zagi is a good material, following his past record and where he worked, so we are in his support to contest for the governorship position in the state’’ he added.

Speaking early while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after his declaration, the Governorship aspirant Dr. Musa Mohammed Zagi said that his major priority if elected as governor of Kebbi state is to develop education, agriculture, health and provide infrastructure to the electorate.

Zagi who possess a doctorate degree in Biochemistry and came from Arugugun emirate, pointed out that he has a lot of dividends of democracy to provide to his people most especially on how to improve the lives of the teaming youth and make them self employed.

“My record of achievement with the Directorate of Petroleum Resources (DPR) where I rose to the directorate level are enviable and verifiable, my political record dated back to my younger days as a student. In my undergraduate days I was the president of NABS. As a postgraduate student I served in the school parliament representing the postgraduates. Even in a Yoruba-dominated community where I currently reside, the residents found me worthy and elected me as their chairman. With the above experience and pedigree, I believe I have what it takes to be your Governor’’ he explained.

Zagi noted that Kebbi state is blessed with the people and natural resources that will make the state great but  lamented that what seems to be lacking are the strong-willed managers to manage the people and resources in a sustainable way.

‘’I offer myself to lead you and not to rule you and to rekindle the dimming hopes and aspirations of our citizenry especially our teaming youths’’ he said.
