In Its efforts to revive the state’s economy and improve on the Internal Generating Revenue, the kebbi state government has said all state media houses and other agencies would be independent henceforth.
Delivery his remarks yesterday at a two days Mid -Year Review meeting on the UNICEF work plan 2018 review approach and methodology process at the state level, the Hon. Commissioner for Budget and Planning Alhaji Zailani Mohammad Yauri said that converting the media houses to autonomous bodies was the best solution to reduce poverty and generate internal revenue in the state.
“We have identified some areas where we can generate an internal revenue, and how to revives them, again we have to also worked on the mineral resources because we only relied on one commodities which was agriculture but now we are also entered other commodities for us to be strong on revenue generation” he added.
He also assured UNICEF that kebbi state government is committed to the hearing of its people by delivering it’s dividend of democracy.
Also responding the Kebbi State Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Babale Ahmed Yauri thanked the UNICEF and other donor agencies for their level of commitment and exemplary support demonstrated to this present administration towards reducing the suffering of the people most especially on the health and education sectors.
In his speech, the UNICEF Chief Filed Officer, Mr. Mohammadi Fall commended the Kebbi state government for supporting UNICEF and partnering with them.
