The Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Ismaila Yombe, has charged all the elected politicians and philanthropists to compliment government efforts by initiating programmes and policies that would benefits youths in order to reduced the high rate of unemployment, political thuggery and poverty in the country and also to promote unity among the elite and the less privileged.
He gave this charge at the weekend during the presentation of one 406 Peugeot, 11 Motorcycle, and donation of N1.5m to the less privileged and also handed over some constituency projects executed by Hon. Aminu Muhammed Bunza, a member of state House of Assembly, representing Bunza Constituency, to the people of his constituency.
He explained further that if elected politicians can emulate and perform the way the state lawmaker has done, there would not be poverty in the country, even as he urged other members to do more to ensure that the electorates feel the impact of democracy in their domain.
He commended the member for his initiative in providing succor to the people of his own constituency, assuring him of more government support towards achieving the same goals and objectives.
Delivering his remarks, Hon. Aminu Bunza said that the gestures were part of his campaign promises to the people, and assured them of more dividends of democracy in the area.
He also thanked the Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, for supporting him and making him feel at home with his people, and also promised to extend the same kindness to the electorates.
“It was done across the 10 wards of my own constituency, I constructed overhead tanks at Dukki village, at Damashe, Biga, Dankire, Owa, Bachaka, Chakawo, and Chakawo villages, also I initiated the construction of Gwade Damana road, construction of drainage at Bunza town, culvert, drainage at Bunza construction of Islamiya schools, health clinics, provided of transformers and others” he added.
