Kebbi: Civil servants urged to be committed to work

From Ahmed Idris Birnin Kebbi

The Kebbi State Head of Service, Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri has expressed dismay over the non-challant attitude to duty by the state civil servants.

He made the comments yesterday in company of the deputy Governor Alhaji Ibrahim K. Aliyu when they were on an inspection of the secretariat complex to see the level of damage done to the building during the heavy rain.

He lamented the low turnout of the civil servants at their places of work, ‘’my office will not condone any act of truancy, absenteeism and late coming to duty, Yauri said.

He explained that very soon a Time Book register will be introduced to checkmate the ugly trend to know those who come late to work.

‘’The Time Book register shall be a measure to know those who report late to duty, if you work we pay and no work no pay’’ he added.

The HOS who also condemned the use of government vehicle number plates by private cars or some principal officers who have retired from the service and were still using them said it is unlawful ‘’the former permanent secretaries and Directors who have retired from the services and were still using the government number plates should endeavor to return them or face confiscation by the V.I.O’’ he lamented. He then appeal to them to be dedicated to their job by being punctual to work.
