From Ahmed Idris, Birinin Kebbi

The leadership of the All Progressive Congress [APC], Kebbi state chapter, yesterday donated a refrigerator to the members of the Correspondents’ chapel in the state.

The donation was made during a Ramadan breakfast organized by the executive member the APC held at the Modiawa Hotel Conference Hall in Brinin Kebbi.

Speaking during dinner, an elder in the party, Alhaji Sani Zuro, who commended the efforts of the working journalists in the state, explained that there is mutual understanding between the party leadership and the press.

Zuro said APC is the only party that would compete with the ruling party across the country, lamenting over the way and manner the PDP is witchunting  some APC governors in the country.

He said “PDP has become virus to us, but Alhah would help us. See what is happen in Adamawa and Nassarwa states now over the impeachment saga; nobody could talk; it is only God that would intervene. We need a good leadership in the state and Nigeria as a whole.”

Zuro who sought for the prayers from the entire citizen in the country for God to stop the current crisis in APC controlled state however, called on party’s membership and other people in the country to remain calm as, according to him, APC would form the next government in 2015.

Also speaking, the state party chairman, Barr. Mohammed Maccido, expressed his gratitude to the member of correspondent chapel for their daily reportage by the party.

“To prove this, even yesterday I received a call from National Secretariat of my party that APC in Kebbi state is doing well in terms of its relationship with the media’’ he disclosed.

He however urged the journalist to redouble their efforts by partaking in investigating reporting especially on the PDP led government’s projects in the state.

Responding while receiving the donation on behalf of the other member, the chairman of the Chapel, Dauda Shehu of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  thanked the leadership of the party for the gesture.
