The Katsina State Ministry of Education has announced the re-opening of secondary schools from Monday 10th August in continuation of full academic activities for JSS III and SS III students across the state.
Salisu Lawal Kerau, the ministry’s public relations officer disclosed this in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in katsina on Thursday.
“Schools will re-open on Monday 10th August, 2020 for the continuation of full academic activities, while Boarding Students are to resume on Sunday 9th August, 2020”.
The statement also directed all schools to ensure effective coverage of syllabus by organizing mandatory special coaching exercise with emphasis on past question papers to ensure the success of students in the coming examinations.
It further added that, official School hours have been extended from 8:00am to 3:00pm (Mondays to Saturdays), adding that, schools should prepare a new Time-table to cater for the above mentioned adjustments.
To this end, the statement directed all teaching and non teaching staff to resume on Friday 7th August and ensure strict compliance to laid down regulations.
According to him, it is mandatory for Staff and Students to wear face-masks and observe social distancing everywhere in the school.
It added that, personal hygiene must be adhered to strictly, such as hand washing and application of hand sanitizers, while environmental sanitation and hygiene, which should include fumigation of all the School Structures should be carried out.
