From Lawal Sa’idu Funtua, Katsina
A stalwart of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Katsina State, Alhaji Yusuf Sani ‘Yar Santa, has advised the leadership of the party in the state to ensure that the forthcoming primary elections of the
party were transparently conducted.
‘Yar Santa, who gave the advice in an interview with newsmen, yesterday in Katsina, noted that it was only free, fair and transparent process that would ensure the election of credible candidates for the forthcoming 2015 elections.
He added “free and fair election process strengthens the unity of a party. Apart from that, if a candidate is beaten in a clean contest, he has no reason to complain. The party must ensure this to capture power in Katsina State”, he said.
‘Yar Santa recalled that since 2003, the opposition in Katsina state failed to capture power due to faulty and unjust primary elections, calling on all stakeholders in the party to make sure all aspirants were given level playing ground.
Meanwhile, the APC stalwart has urged all eligible voters in the country to make sure they obtain the Permanent Voter Card, which he said is the most critical step in voting out bad governance in the country.
Similarly, he advised people in Funtua and Dandume Federal Constituency to support Alhaji Salisu Gambo Dandume of the APC to win the House of Representatives seat of the area, so as to give them positive representation.
He added that the aspirant has been supporting people of the area through the provision of water supply, scholarship scheme, youth and women empowerment, promising that he would do more when elected.
