Kano state governor, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has expressed optimism that great reform will be witnessed in Kano with the appointment of Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II as its new Emir of Kano, in view of his vast western and Islamic education as well as his wealth of experience in the public and private sectors of the nation’s economy.
The governor made this known at the Government House, Kano, while receiving the former Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Mustapha Haruna Rashid, who visited the state to commiserate with the citizens over the demise of the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero and to congratulate the new Emir, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II.
“The appointment of Muhammadu Sanusi II would be a blessing to the people of the state, looking at his rich credentials and exposure. I hope that people would cooperate with him, to enable him serve them better” the governor said.
Gov. Kwankwaso further stated that the present administration is committed towards choosing the best for the people of the state in all areas of human endeavour, pointing out that this is what a leader is supposed to do for his people, as anything besides this would can be counter-productive to the society.
The governor thanked the Emir of Gwandu, for offering condolences to the people of Kano and for making encouraging observations in respect of the on-going physical transformation in the state.
The Emir spoke elaborately about the on-going infrastructural revolution in the state, appealing to Nigerian governors to emulate Governor Kwankwaso’s vision so as to make the country great, particularly in the area of education.
