Kano State Ministry of Health has inaugurated the steering committee of Sustainable Drugs Supply System Scheme ( SDSSC) as part of its on going workshop in Kaduna.
A statement issued yesterday by Hadiza Mustapha Namadi, Information Officer Ministry of Health, said the committee is chaired by the state Commissioner Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, while Director Pharmaceutical Services of the Ministry will serve as Secretary.
The statement added that the committee also has the Permanent Secretary as Member.
“Other members include; Director Drugs Medical Consumable Supply Agency, Pharmacist Hisham Imamudeen; Director General Hospital Management Board, Director General Kano State Agency for the Control of Aids, Executive Secretary State Primary Health Care Management Board, Executive Secretary Kano State Contributory Health Care Management Agency.
“Also in the committee are; the Executive Secretary Private Health Institution Management Agency, Kano Health Trust Fund.
“The committee has five major Roles to Play in providing Policy Direction for SDSSC Operation in the State, receipt of monthly report from SDSSC as well as carrying out oversight function on SDSSC.
“The committee will also meet quarterly and review the reports of SDSSC, provide necessary support for the smooth running of SDSSC, ensuring Annual Audit of SDSSC as well as recieve and review report from state Maternal and Child Health Steering Committee.”
