As part of its corporate social responsibility, Kaduna Refinery and Petrolchemical Company has offered free dental Check-up to host communities in the state.
The benefiing communities are Sabon Garin Rido, Rido Hausa, Mahuta, Rido Gwari and Juji community.
The exercise was part of the World Oral Health Day 2018 organized by KRPC management to its neighbouring communities.
In his lecture, Consultant Oral and Maxillofocial Surgeon Dr Omisakin Oluleke said Dental problem can kill.
He explained that it’s always important for people to visit dentist twice a year.
“ We have different types of dental diseases that people suffer of. This is why it’s important for us to take and protect our teeth.
“ People must avoid alcohol or smoking to avoid cancer of the mouth. Avoid given chocolates or sweets to children to avoid teeth decay. Always visit your dentist in government approved hospital,” he said.
Earlier, Executive Director Services Dr Abdullahi Idris said the programme is part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities to its host communities.
He explained that the company joined the world to mark the 2018 oral day due to its importance.
He said about 750 people benefitted from the check up and toothpaste distributed to them to boost their dental hygiene .
The Village Head Hamisu Haruna Commended the KRPC management for the free oral services to its people.
He said that KRPC has been sensitizing the communities every year against polio, measles, meningitis, Ebola among other diseases which has been really helpful.
“ We thank you for your support, we thank you for the sensitization against all these diseases,” he said.
