Kaduna Recreation Club has resolved its leadership crisis which has been lingering for the past six months.
However, regardless of the resolve to move the club forward, members are begging one of them to withdraw a N10 million suit against the club, though the reason for the suit was not disclosed at the time of filing this report.
It was gathered that shortly before the last general elections in the country, some members of the club felt aggrieved when the then leadership of the club allegedly held on to power at the expiration of their tenure in January.
The aggrieved members were said to have taken the leadership to court when they failed to gather required number of members to hold Extra Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) where election of new executive council would have taken place.
However, it was said that a Kaduna High Court ordered that a caretaker committee be set up to work towards the election of substantive officials of the age-long club in the heart of Kaduna city.
To this end, a 5-man caretaker committee was inaugurated at the weekend to pilot the affairs of the club for the next three months and hand over to duly elected officials.
In his acceptance speech, chairman of the committee, Mr. Luka Samdi called for the cooperation of the entire members of the club to enable him usher in fresh brains to head the leadership of the club.
However, Samdi assured that his committee would work within the time frame for better reposition of the club.
Earlier, while inaugurating the caretaker committee, the immediate past president of the club, Mr. Mike Oyelude expressed gratitude to the members of the club for cooperating with him through his tenure.
