Men of the Kaduna state Police Command have gunned down three gunmen who stormed the Mother Cat Company premises at Mando in Igabi Local Government area of the state.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration of the Command DCP Onah Sunny disclosed this in a statement made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
The statement revealed that the gunmen entered the company premises around 05 :40 AM yesterday and started shooting sporadically and attacking Policemen on guard duty.
“The gallant police men engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel.
They repelled the attack and in the process gunned down three of them.
‘During the fierce gun duel, two of our men AP NO 161126 Insp Bijimi Maiyaki, F/No 251990 SGT Kabiru Shuaibu attached to Ops yaki sustained injuries and were rushed to 44 Army Reference Hospital for treatment.
“ However, the NCO died while receiving treatment while the Insp was treated and discharged.”
“ Exhibits recovered from the hoodlums included four AK 47 rifles, eight magazines with one hundred and thirty (130) live Ammo, five (5) pieces of suspected Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and a Golf Wagon vehicle with REG Number W 812 FST.
He said teams of operatives are still on the trail of the remaining two hoodlums who escaped with bullet injuries.
