Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board is to commence enlightenment and education for its registered intending pilgrims for this year’s pilgrimage in all the enlightenment centres starting this week end.
A statement signed by the spokesperson of the Board, Yunusa Muhammad Abdullahi said that the enlightenment is aimed at teaching the intending pilgrims basic principles of Islam, holy pilgrimage and other principles of Hajj operations as well as rules and regulations governing pilgrims stay in Saudi Arabia.
The statement quoted the Overseer of the Board, Imam Hussaini Sulaiman Tsoho as saying that, the sensitisation will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays, for five months and attendance is compulsory by all the registered intending pilgrims.
He revealed that the Board has already registered more than 1,000 intending pilgrims for this year’s hajj and the registration is on-going and is to be closed next month, the statement added.
A total of 6,632 hajj seats have been allocated to the state by National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Abuja.
