Kaduna State Peace Commission, (KAPECOM ) has appealed to the teaming population of youths in the state to work for peace and resist all temptations to act violently.
The Chairman of the Commission Most Reverend Josiah Idowu-Fearon, made the assertion during a press conference held in kaduna yesterday.
He encouraged the Youth to report complaints and grievances to appropriate authorities for peaceful resolution
Reverend Josiah Idowu-Fearon, Who harped on Peaceful and Harmonious Coexistence said the Commission was established to work with the government and people of Kaduna and create a culture of durable peace and social tranquility, saying at that time, many parts of the state were facing challenges of violent conflicts.
“Two years into its existence, the Commission has engaged and collaborated with
diverse stakeholders within and outside the state in pursuance of its mandate.
“This includes our esteemed traditional and religious leaders, religious institutions, national and international civil society organisations, bilateral and multilateral organisations, leaders of political parties as well as the media.
“The Commission has also partnered with young people, women groups and community based organisations.
“Similarly, the Commission has worked with Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Kaduna State Government and the Local Government administrations.
“The Commission has cooperated with similar agencies at the national level and sister states. At the international level, the Commission has participated and contributed to deliberations, providing technical insights for formulation of policies and designing of interventions that contribute to global peace and stability,” he said.
