Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state was among the nation’s top dignitaries who honoured Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency,(NIMASA) by attending its Corporate Dinner and Merit Award night.
The Senator representing Kaduna Central in the Upper Chamber Uba Sani has urged Kaduna State youths to shun activities capable of jeopardizing security and peaceful coexistence in the State.
Uba Sani, who was speaking during the Kaduna Youth Summit organized by National Youth Council of Nigeria in kaduna yesterday also called on the Youth to develop entrepreneurship skills that will sustain them.
The Senator further asked them to be committed to national development and contribute their quota to the development of the state in the areas of education, healthcare service delivery and social development.
“I want you to be committed to doing only things capable of promoting peace and unity in the communities where you came from
“Shun the ‘get rich quick’ syndrome and rather work hard and diligently towards becoming someone you, your family, the society and younger generation can be proud of.
“We have a Foundation that will work with the Youth Council for the betterment of its members.” He said.
Kaduna State Commissioner for Human Services & Social Development Hajia Hasfat Mohammed Baba said she will need resolutions of the summit to her office for implementation.
She assured them of the support of kaduna state Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai whom she described as youth friendly.
The Chairman of the occasion Chief Anthony Hassan advised the Youth to get into the mainstream of politics and refused to be used as thugs during elections
He called on them to always support any Youth vying for any political office.
The state Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria Comrade Nathaniel Bagudu said the summit was organized to brainstorm on the contribution of kaduna state youth to the peace and development of the state.
