In line with directives of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) Kaduna State Council of Inter – Party Advisory Council (IPAC) held its executive council election for various positions in the state.
The election which was supervised by Mr. Abedoh Musa, head of department, empowerment at the INEC head office, saw Capt. Abdullahi Maikano (rtd) of PDC emerging as chairman while Samuel Kato of AD, Barrister Bello Magaji of LP, Jebbo Yero of KOWA and Mohammed Sani of PPN emerged as deputy chairman, secretary, deputy secretary and treasurer respectively.
Other officers elected into the council are Joseph Tongove and Engr. Musa Idris who were elected financial secretary and publicity secretary respectively.
Speaking after the election, head of the three-man electoral committee, Barrister Godson Okoye who is the acting National Chairman of the United Democratic Party, said the available posts were keenly contested by candidates from the 24 registered political parties.
“IPAC is to promote inter party dialogue among all registered political parties with a view to contributing to violence free, fair credible and transparent electoral process in Nigeria “he said.
In his own remark, newly elected chairman, Capt. Abdullahi Maikano promised to uphold the tenet of the political parties code of conduct of 2013, adding that as the chairman of the Kaduna State Coalition of Political Parties he, alongside his executive members will take IPAC to the next level.
