From Ahmad Mohammed, Bauchi
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bashir Bukar Rimin Zayam, has said that the results of the just concluded Kaduna State council polls were a lesson to Governor Nasir El-Rufai over his comments on respected past leaders.
Rimin Zayam stated this when he interacted with journalists in Bauchi, where he said the Governor lost his constituency because people were angry over his recent nasty comments on past leaders, including late Sir Ahmadu Bello and late Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.
“This is the consequences of disobedience and disrespect to elder statesmen; he should learn a lesson from this local Government election”, he said.
Rimin Zayam said leaders should learn to appreciate the work and contributions of their predecessors because every regime comes with different challenges and without hard work and sacrifice of their predecessors, they will not see both the human and capital development projects executed.
He said Kaduna council polls is a good omen to PDP, adding that it is an indication that it will come out stronger and it will emerge victorious in 2019.
Rimin Zayam appealed to electorates to be peaceful and to avoid any action that will cause trouble in the country.
