The Speaker of Kaduna state House of Assembly, Alhaji Usman Tahir yesterday swore-in Mr. Timothy Chindo as the new member representing Kauru / hawai at the state Assembly.
Chindo was elected on July 5th June under the platform of People Democratic Party (PDP) following the demised of his predecessor Hon. Shu’aibu Tukura, who died on March 21, 2014, after a protracted illness in an Indian hospital.
Chindo was a member of the ruling People Democratic Party (PDP) who overwhelmingly defeated the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the bye-election into Kauru/Chawai Constituency of the state
Assembly conducted on Saturday 5th of June.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in its result, stated that the said Chindo polled 36,152 votes to defeat his rival, Dr. Isaac Auta Zakai, of APC, who got 16,451 votes. Subsequently the return certificate was handed to him.
Dandaura advised the new member to always carry everybody along and also leave in peace with all members of his constituency.
He said the people of Kauru would continue with him as their member come 2015 Election.
On his part, Hon. Mr. Chindo said he will try as much as possible to ensure that he upholds the trust the electorates has in him. Adding that his major priority that he would give more attention on the youths” because they are the backbone of every society “he said.
He promised to work by the fruitful advice of the elders, on the way to move the constituency forwards, stressing that he will always carry the elders along in all his endeavours and whatever he is doing and everybody in Kauru and beyond.
