Jos organizes special prayers for peace

The Jos North Local Government Council on Wednesday organized a special prayer session with a view to inspire peaceful coexistence in the area.
The prayer, led by the Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque Sheik Lawal Adam admonished Muslims and Christians faithful to desist from sectarian bias, hatred and always ask for peace as they revere God.
The clergyman said “as people, we are created by God only to worship him, we shall put to rest, whatsoever that intends to depress our standing peace and refurbish our minds toward adoring ourselves than abhorrence”.
The Jos North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Shehu Bala in his remark during the prayer session said, “prayers is very vital in every aspect of human endeavor, this is why residents of Jos and its environs need to come together and toe the path of God. We need to compliment of the efforts of our Governor, to come together in unison irrespective of ethnicity, region or religion to pray to God in the interest of our LGA, Plateau State and Nigeria at large”.
Hon Bala reiterated commitment to continue to work in the interest of the people of Jos North Local Government Area. He said Governor Lalong is a role model peace promoter and therefore it is necessary to build on his charitable legacies.
