Tragedy struck along Katsina-Kaduna expressway yesterday, when a Hiace bus conveying 18 members of the Jonathan support group under the name, Jonathan Shall Lead Again Movemenet (JOSLA) from Katsina to Kaduna, enroute Abuja had a head-on collision with a Golf car, which was coming from the opposite direction, at Giwa junction.
The state coordinator of the movement, Ms Queen Abueh, who was one of the passengers had her hand amputated at an hospital in Zaria and together with the other passengers are receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kaduna.
Briefing the media in Kaduna yesterday, the national coordinator of the movement, Comrade Kingsley Okoruwa, described the accident as unfortunate and a setback to the Jonathan support group. He added that the driver of the vehicle is also in a critical condition as he was placed on life support machine.
“We, however, express gratitude to God that all the 18 members in the bus are responding to treatment.”
He also thanked the Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shehu Shema, who stopped by at the accident, assisted the victims and promised to settle the hospital bills of the 18 members involved.
