President Goodluck Jonathan has failed in ensuring security of lives and properties of Nigerians as enshrined in the constitution. The former Governor of Kano State and a serving Senator Alhaji Kabir Gaya made this assertion in Kaduna yesterday when he visited General Muhammadu Buhari to sympathize with him over the attempted suicide attack on his life recently.

Senator Gaya also said it is sad that the government is operating a closed door policy and not accepting genuine advice, adding that there has been state of emergency in some but to no avail.

Gaya promised to inform the Senate president to convene an emergency session on the raising insecurity and because from all indications it is obvious that President Jonathan cannot arrest the situation therefore there is need for   urgent.

“I don’t believe it is Boko Haram that made the attack. But I believe some people are hiding under the guise of Boko Haram to cause mayhem.

We gave amnesty to the Niger Delta and giving them 150 billion naira annually to salvage the twenty thousand youth, but Jonathan gave only 2 billion to the North East, I see no reason why we cannot put in 150 billion naira to salvage the North East of the country”.

Senator Gaya prayed to God to protect the General and praised him for his courage to come out and assist the victims of the attack.

He then called on the people to be law-abiding, even as the insecurity has now gone far beyond Borno and Yobe states and is being alleged to have reached.

He recalled that during the late President Umaru Yar’adua’s sickness, the senate reconvened and intervened and we should not sit down.

“Bringing in foreign troops will not solve the problem. If our soldiers can fight in Liberia and other West African nations liberate other places why not in Nigeria, maybe there is an ulterior motive.”

Senator Gaya said, “Hundreds of people are being killed daily. Chibok girls are in captivity for more one hundred days and nobody is concerned; but in America, if one person is in danger, the whole country will make sure he is rescued.

Senator Gaya visited one of the security aides of General Buhari in a private hospital where he is being treated for fracture and trauma of the failed suicide attack.
