President Goodluck Jonathan accused the opposition party is instigating electorate in the country against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led government, challenging the party to state its achievements, rather than looking for cheap popularity.

He said that the PDP stands for peace and that no retrogressive force can put the party behind.

Speaking at the PDP presidential campaign rally at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Square (IBBS) in Bauchi, the President maintained that the PDP government has reduced the prevalence of polio virus in the state since September 22nd 2013 and assured that before the end of the year, the virus will be completely eradicated in the country.

He cautioned youths against acts of violence during and after the election, saying that if re-elected, he will invest in youth’s empowerment through micro small scale enterprise, agriculture and education.

According to President Jonathan, “since oil is dwindling, we would embark on the excavation of the abundant solid minerals in Bauchi, so that indigenes of the state will be employable.

“If re-elected, I will ensure that I work with the governorship candidate to bring the dividend of democracy to Bauchi State” he said.

State governors present at the event include Isa Yuguda, Bauchi, Ibrahim Dankwambo, Gombe and Goodswill Akpabio of Ikwa-Ibom as well as the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, Senator Ahmadu Ali.

Other PDP dignitaries at the event are the national chairman, Ahmed Mu azu, FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed among others.
