In a dramatic change, the children routine immunization coverage in Jigawa state has risen to 46 percent as against 8 percent reported in 2017.
The Director State Primary Health-care Board, Dr Shehu Sambo revealed this while speaking to journalists at a meeting with local governments. chairmen and other stake holders for strengthening immunization coverage in the state.
He said, the last year report from World Health Organization in which Jigawa state scored only 8 percent of children routine immunization coverage was so alarming and provoking.
Dr Sambo noted that, since that very day, the state government and all other stake holders came together and strategized toward tackling the challenges.
“Our children are our pride and our future, and we will never ever sleep with two eyes when their lives are in danger.”
