A nongovernmental organisation, Action Against Hunger through the support of Department of International Development (DFID) has appealed to Jigawa State government to release funds for the implementation of approved social protection policy in the state.
The appeal was made by the ACF state Advocacy Manager, Sabiu Sulaiman Shehu during a three day advocacy planning workshop organised by ACF and held at Nakowa Modern guest lodge Dutse.
He explained that, the timely released of funds would help the faster implementation of the social protection policy for the benefit of children, women, persons with disabilities, poor and other vulnerable in the state.
Shehu maintained that, the civil society organisations and media people are trained on advocacy strategies to achieve the desired goals in the state.
The advocacy manager said, the training also aimed at designing effective strategies that would facilitate the faster implementation of policy for people in the state to benefit.
He then sought for the collaborative effort from both media and civil society organisations in the state to follow-up the release of funds by the government and fully implementation of the policy.
