The Jigawa state Primary Health Care Development Agency has yesterday flagged off the 2018 African vaccination week in Sakwaya town area of Dutse Jigawa state.
Speaking at the event, the executive secretary Jigawa state Primary health Care Development Agency, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim said, the move aimed at highlighting the public on the importance of the vaccination to their Children against five common killer diseases.
According to him, the agency chooses to flag off the programme at Sakwaya town while the vaccination exercise will continue in over 10,641 towns across Jigawa state.
Dr Kabir maintainted that the move will also help to draw the attention of senior level stakeholders from 27 local government to allocate resources for immunisation for better future of their children and the state at large.
He then urged the people to support the programme by bringing their children for the immunisation at various centres in the state.
While speaking, the executive chairman Dutse local government Alhaji Bala \’yargaba promised to do all his best to ensure the success of the exercise.
He said, the present APC administration\’s in the state is committed to improve the health of its citizens particularly women and children.
Also making his remarks, his royal highness the emir of Dutse Alhaji Nuhu muhammad Sunusi who was represented by the Danmalan of Dutse Alhaji Aminu, charged traditional rulers to corporate with health personnel and ensure the success of the exercise in the state.
