The Jigawa state government has released the sum of N1.452,410,454.65 billion for the payment of 793 retired and deceased civil servants in the state for the month of March 2021.
The executive secretary Jigawa state and local government pension board, Alhaji Hashim Ahmed dropped the hint while speaking to news men during the payment held at Jigawa pension house Dutse.
He explained that the beneficiaries drown from the state government, local government and local education authority whom that leaves service “by attaining retirement age or died in active service”.
The executive secretary explained that 222 workers leaves service at the state government, 184 from the local education authority and 183 from 27 local government councils in the state.
He noted that “144 person died in service of which 59 in the local government councils, 44 in the local education authority and 41 in the state government”.
According to him “the total sum of N436,561’540.55 to be paid to 222 retired workers in the state government, N337,744,809.35 will go to the 144 local education retired staff and N234,180,029.52 is for 183 local government council’s civil servants.
“Adding above figures all together it’s will give you a total sum of N1,008,486,379.42 for total of 549 workers retired from the state and 27 local council and local education authorities in the state”.
He maintained that “the sum of N373,918,663.01 is earmarked for the settlement of death benefits to the families of deceased workers died in active service in the state.
Adding that “N68, 962,175.58 to be use and pays 53 death pension balance”.
