Urhobo Youth under the aegies of Urhobo Youth leaders ‘Association ( UYLA) on Sunday urged the Federal Government to pay N500billion as compensation to over 1000 families of Jesse fire disaster victims in 1998.
UYLA has also backed the disbursement of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Interim Management Committee (IMC) set up by President Muhammadu Buhari in support of the South South governors
In a press release signed by the group Acting National President, Mr Vincent Oyibode and Mr Tony Ofoni , Samuel Oghotomo , a copy made available to our Correspondent in Asaba, however appluaded the people of Ijaw and Itsekiris struggle against the sale of the 57 marginal oil field to foreigners, adding”we the Urhobo Youth leaders Association join hand with our brothers from Ijaw and Itsekiris compatriots to prevail on the Federal Government to complete the Omadino Escravos Federal High way, the Koko Ogheye road and adequate funding of the Maritime University in Okerenkoko.”
The statement further averred that the Completion of$210 Gas Revolution Industrial Park and Deep sea port at Ogidigben and Okerenkoko respectively, and suspend the plan to divert our gas to Ajaokuta , Abuja, kaduna , Kano and Niger Republic until all host Communities are guaranteed regular electricity from gasturbine power station in Delta state at Ekakpame , Sapele and Amai.”
