The Islamic sect, Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’ah Wa’ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) has donated food items, clothing worth over N6 million to about five hundred orphans, widows of Boko Haram victims in Kano, in an effort to cushion the effect of their suffering.
The event, which is an annual one, that is conducted every Ramadan period was targeted at boys and girls that lost their parents for them to have a sense of belonging in the society, as they don’t have any one to cater for them.
Also, the programme, according to the state Chairman of the sect, Dr. Abdullah Saleh Pakistan, takes care of the widows who were left without anybody to give them succor, adding that this year they are giving out over 400 bags of Rice and about 1000 pairs of Clothing.
Pakistan noted that “in Dakata area of Nassarawa Local Government we have one family whose Father was shot dead by unknown Gunmen and he left them 25 kids, both young girls and boys who are not grown up to take care of themselves”.
Similarly, our correspondent came across three boys, Hamza
Auwal, Salisu Auwal and Auwal Auwal, who said their father was killed by gunmen at his working place and since then they have been left wallowing in abject poverty without help coming from anybody.
Auwal who is eight years old is the eldest among them said “we thank Almighty Allah that gave the Izala sect this wisdom to give us succor to have food on Salla Day and clothing as if our father is still alive’.
Some Women also were seen openly shedding tears in happiness and sorrow over their poverty condition as they took away a bag of rice and some brocade for their families each.
The event according to the State Chairman of the Izala Sect was initiated some five years ago on the understanding that they are hundreds of orphans and widows rooming about the streets without food to eat even on salla day.
‘So we sat down and initiate it by seeking helps from philanthropists and other well-to-do God fearing people who donates foods and new clothing and in turn with the little we have we then provides forms to every recognized orphanage houses ’, he added.
