Alex Iwobi was in Everton’s starting eleven as The Toffees held Manchester United to a 1-1 away draw in yesterday’s Premier League game at the Old Trafford.
The game was Iwobi’s 16th league appearance for Everton this season.
Everton played ambitiously to build on their 3-1 win against Chelsea, and took the lead in the 36th minute after the ball looped over David De Gea from a corner and bounced in off Victor Lindelof at the back post.
With 13 minutes remaining in the game, United poured forward and were rewarded through Mason Greenwood who cut inside from the right and drilled the ball low into the corner to make it 1-1.
United are now sixth in the league table on 25 points, four points away from fourth position , while Everton are 16th on 18 points.
And at the Molineax, Tottenham Hotspur ended Wolverhampton Wanderers’ unbeaten run following a 2-1 win.
Before the game on Sunday, Wolves had been unbeaten in nine consecutive games in all competitions.
Spurs got off to a good start on eight minutes as Lucas Moura ran at goal from the right, beat a number of Wolves defenders and lashed a fierce shot into the roof of the net.
Wolves equalised on 67 minutes through Adama Traore who found space outside the area and launched a powerful into the back of the net.
And in the 91st minute, Jan Vertonghen scored the winner after powerfully heading home Christian Eriksen’s corner.
