An Islamic Cleric, Imam Muhammad Nuru Khalid has urged Nigerians to be watchful of attempts by the West to attack the sovereignty of Nigeria through the satanic move to promote homosexuality and lesbianism.

While speaking on the topic: Preventing the second coming of the destroyed city of Lot [Sodom and Gomorrah], Muhammad Nuru Khalid who is the Imam of Apo Legislative Quarters Mosque in Abuja, and lead speaker at the Abuja Family Symposium 2014 themed: The Tool for a Sustainable Soceity, called on Nigerians to give suggestions on how to prevent being destroyed like what happened to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.

He described the city of Sodom and Gomorrah as “not just a geographical location but the acts of evil doers” whom he likened to “those who hate the truth and promote falsehood”, among others, and warned that no matter how secured Abuja may seem, just like in Sodom and Gomorrah, “it is not too much for the destruction of Allah to come upon it if we derail from doing the will of Almighty Allah [PBUH] and turn from our sinful ways”.

Speaking earlier, former Director General of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Alhaji Lanre Ipinmisho attributed the problems of Nigeria to those seeking for votes to political offices and urged both Christians and Muslims to see each other as brothers and sisters and be united for the furtherance of peace and harmony in the country.

“The critical situation we are in today in Nigeria calls for a forum like this to bridge the calamity that satan has brought upon both Christians and Muslims through immoral acts like homosexuality and lesbianism”, he said.

Other papers presented at the event were: Social impacts of early and late marriage; which way out and Child abuse, the family and the challenges of nation building.
