IPOB unrest: Adamawa govt assures non indigenes of protection, safety

The Adamawa state government has assured all the law abiding citizens of other tribes residing in the state, especially those of Igbo extraction of maximum protection against any aggression.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy,Comrade Ahmad Sajoh announced government’s position in Yola on Friday at a meeting with the Igbo community at Government House Yola, saying that the government will use all instrumentalities at its disposal to ensure all are protected.
Sajoh regretted that the minor skirmishes recorded in the south eastern part of the country as a result of Proscribed IPOB members was the genesis of the tension in the country.
Earlier in their separate responses, Igbo residents in the state denounced the current unrest in some states in the South-East arising from the activity of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB),
They also condemned in strong terms,the current unrest arising from the activities of the group.
President General of Igbo Cultural Association in the state,Chief Obonna Paul Ibere told journalists after the meeting with Governor Muhammadu Jibrilla and the security chiefs, that he regretted the deficiencies of members of IPOB for not allowing peace to reign in the region.

“See this issue of IPOB as an issue that is destined to happen, expect that some disgruntled people are trying to over blow the situation out of proportion
He added that the issue in the south-East should, not be given tribal, ethnic or regional coloration, hence it should be regarded as a natural issue that affects a some part of the country.
He called for proper caution in the sides of the military and other security operatives deployed to the troubled areas so as to avoid casualties on innocent civilians
