Erena made the declaration yesterday at Pogo depot near Minna the state capital while briefing journalists about the predicament faced by his members in all the three major routes through the state hence the need for prompt government intervention.
He however, urged the federal government under President Muhammadu Buhari to come to their rescue by intensifying security apparatus along Birinin Gwari, Tegina, Kagara and Mokwa roads where several of their members were attacked, kidnapped and trucks confisticated by criminals.
While commending the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari on the ongoing road projects called for the release of funds for the contractor handling Lambata, Lapai to Bida roads so as to commence the construction just like that of Suleja- Minna road.
He further said that Kaduna, Sarkin Pawa to Minna roads has for long been a dead trap hence the urgent need for its reconstruction adding that it was the reason the trucks can only play through Minna route as the state government 12 hours (10pm to 6am) restriction policy is further affecting their vehicle movement hence the delivery of products in the state.
Erena lamented that his members lost on daily based no fewer than N40 million due to insecurity, accidents and even loss of lives just as between 10 – 20 trucks were been kidnapped assured not to have scarcity because of some of this challenges.
