In a bid to support reproductive health care service delivery, a Nongovernmental organization known as IPAS has donated medical equipment worth N9.4 million to 35 health facilities across Jigawa state.
Speaking at the distribution of the equipment to the facilities held in Dutse capital, the IPAS Country Director, Dr. Halima Shekarau said, her organization is working toward supporting access to quality reproductive health care service by women and young girls.
Halima who was represented by her Health System Adviser added that, the equipment donated to the facilities are basically to complements the effort of Jigawa state government in the area of reproductive and other related health issues.
She noted that, the high rate of maternal and newborn child death is as ource of concern and in recognition of the efforts putting in place by Jigawa state government to tackle the problem her association thought to support the government in achieving the desire goals.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary Jigawa state Primary Health Care Board, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim commended the IPAS for their support toward improving access to quality reproductive health care service delivery in the state.
He promised to ensure all the donated medical equipment are delivered to the targeted facilities for the benefits of women and young girls.
