Lobi Stars Vice Chairman, Dominic Iorfa has revealed why he wants to succeed Aminu Maigari as Nigeria Football Federation President. Iorfa said that he feels he is the most qualified of all the candidates to become the President of the football body having put in over 25 years as a player and an administrator. Iorfa added he is qualified and I want to serve Nigeria in that capacity and revealed that he knows where the shoe pinches because he played the game in Nigeria and abroad.
“Considering my vast experience in football, I played as a footballer for the country and I managed a professional football club for fourteen years as an administrator. I’ve got the experience to solve the problems in the Football Federation and to move Nigeria football forward. “I want to leverage on transparency, team work and accountability. We as humans aren’t perfect but being accountable and working with a team that’s ready to achieve more means a lot. “I must say here that the Alhaji Aminu Maigari’s board have raised the bar. He’s achieved a lot. No former NFF president has achieved what he did. The national teams qualified for major tournaments and also won some trophies, but an important question here is why do people want him out?
“That’s why I’d like to bring everyone together and make sure I work with a team that understands the vision. I’ve been on the board before, I was one time an acting chairman of the NFF and we tried to come up with some creative ideas but we didn’t have much time to see it through.” The election comes up September 30th in Warri.
