The Federal Government yesterday described the Institute of Directors, Nigeria, (IoD) as a strong driving force for the entrenchment of good governance, transparency, fairness and justice in the country.
Vice President, Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo stated this when a high powered delegation of the IoD, led by the President and Chairman of the Council, Mrs. Eniola Fadayomi, paid him a courtesy visit.
Sambo expressed appreciation for the support of the IoD in the execution of the tenets of the Transformation Agenda and also in the implementation of government’s initiative of public, private sector partnership.
The Vice President stressed that “government would continue to support the Institute in meeting with its mandate and objectives, adding that government would continue to engage members of the IoD in the implementation of government policies and initiatives.”
In her remarks, the President and Chairman of Council of the IoD said their visit was to brief the Vice President on the forthcoming 2014 Annual Conference of the Institute and also to inform him on the launch of the IoD’s Register of Independent Directors.
