From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi

Former Minister of Establishment during Obasanjo regime, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Kirfi has observed that only God’s intervention can make Nigeria overcome the present security challenges.

Bello Kirfi made the remark yesterday, while speaking during an award presentation to three distinguished Nigerians, organised by the National Association of Public Administration Students  (NASPAS), Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi.

He said Nigeria is bedevilled with security challenges that require God’s  intervention, adding that all Nigerians need to pray for peace to be restored in this country.

“I wish all the students success in your studies, you came when the nation is  passing through some security challenges, especially as number of lives are lost on daily basis, abduction and bombings in the country particularly in the North east zone that was seriously affected with Boko Haram insurgency. Nigeria needs prayers to regain peace as we have wrong leadership” he said.

Alhaji Kirfi explained that all the three awardees, former SGF Alhaji Aminu Saleh, Head of Service. Mr. Abdon Dalla Gin and Rector Federal Polytechnic, Dr Shuaibu Musa deserved the award considering their contributions towards the development of the state and the nation in general.

Earlier, the Rector Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Dr Shuaibu Musa said public administration happened to be one of the courses accredited in the institution and advised students to shun examination malpractices or misconduct throughout their studies.

Responding on behalf of the recipients, Head of Service, Mr. Abdon Dalla Gin commended the association for finding them worthy of the awards and called on the students to face their studies and shun all negative acts that may distract their studies.
