Gombe state governor; Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has donated materials worth thousands of naira to the affected police victims who had suffered losses during the course of their duty.
Presenting the material to the beneficiaries at the police headquarters yesterday, Gombe state commissioner of police, Mr. Kudu Abdullahi Nma said the governor made the donation in order to alleviate the suffering of officers and men who lost their properties while on duty in the state.
He said the donation was made strictly to the deceased families who lost their love ones at the course of their duty, adding that those who lost their properties while on duty also received gift from the governor in order to have sense of belonging in the society.
The commissioner thanked the governor for the gesture and promised that his command would not relent in combating crime in the state, noting that it is the responsibility of the police to ensure that lives and property of citizens are protected.
He said the governor donated N200, 000 each to the deceased families who lost their lives at the course of their duty while other officers were giving motor cycles.
Among the deceased family who benefited from the donation were Inspectors Bala Usman and John Monday, CPL’s Micah Abaye and Abdullahi Mohammed while CPL. Gimba Umar got N50,000 for medication.
Speaking further, the commissioner said the governor also donated motorcycles to the affected officers and men who lost their properties while on duty. ASP.AtangaIorlina was given a Golf 3 car, while Inspector’s Audu Kalaye and Henry Silas as well as CPL’s James Luka and Adamu Bulak were also given motorcycles each.
