Zamfara State Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle has distributed 200 operational vehicles to security agencies with a view to gear up towards completion of banditry activities in the state.
Matawalle, who expressed need to provide security agencies with all integrals in continued fight against security challenges, said the main aim was to ensure smooth runnings of farming activities.
“Our aims and prayers were to witness massive turnout of farmers on farmlands across our bushes with hope to achieve mass farm productions for the 2020 wet season and even beyond.
“My administration has found it necessary to consider security issue as one of the priorities without which, no developmental projects whatsoever must be achieved at any level across the state.
“What we are expecting immediately after the distribution of these crime fighting vehicles was to get records from the security agencies that, even the remaining recalcitrants of bandits were either neutralized or compelled to embrace peace.
The well equipped 200 vehicles were distributed amongst the Police, Nigerian Army, Air force, NSCDC, Immigration service, FRSC, DSS, EFCC, Prisons service, Zamfara Road Transport Agency (ZAROTA) and HISBA commission.
In separate speeches on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Chief of Air Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, represented by GOC 3 Division, Major General Nuhu Angbazo and the State Commissioner of Police, CP Usman Nagogo respectively assured judicial use of the vehicles and the desired outcomes.
