The Council of Imams and Ulamas in Kaduna state has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to stop playing on the intelligence of  Muslims in Nigeria, saying such actions will be too much a price  and dangerous to the nation.

The clerics stated this during a joint press conference organized by the council of Imams and Ulamas, National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations and Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Northern states, held in Kaduna yesterday.

The statement, which was read by the Vice Chairman of the Ulamas Council, Sheikh Ibrahim Nakaka and the Chairman MSSN, Yusuf Yakubu Arrigasiyyu stated that the way President Jonathan is handling some key national and security issues forced them to believe that he has totally run out of ideas and is only playing on the intelligence of Nigerians.

According to the statement, “The recent accusation by Mr. Davies mentioning Senator Modu Sherriff and Gen. Ihejirika   as the principal sponsor of Boko Haram called for national concern but rather, the

Jonathan-led administration gave over 200 armed soldiers to escort one of the suspect to Maiduguri, a civility that has never been given to any serving Governor not to talk of a former governor with a disputable character.

“The same federal government denied Muslim pilgrims and the serving Governor the access to fly through Maiduguri airport for the fear of the insurgents but at the same time allowed Modu Sherriff to use the same airport, which means Muslim pilgrims and others are not safe in the hands of insurgents, but Modu Sherriff is always safe in the hands and can even fly without being harm by the insurgents which translate to there is a mutual relationship between them.

“We warn President Goodluck Jonathan to stop playing on our intelligence,” they however stated.
