The Chairman, Yoruba Council of Traditional Chiefs and Obas in the 19 Northern states and Abuja, Ambassador Muhammadu Arigbabuwo has urged Nigerians to continue praying for the nation to overcome insecurity as security in the country has degenerated to the lowest level.
The Royal Father stated this while speaking with the media in kaduna yesterday.
Ambassador Arigbagbuwo attributed the high level of insecurity to lack of direction in the nation saying many Nigerians are too religious and yet are not putting their mind in the right direction.
According to him, love, peace, unity and harmony are important values missing and desperate individuals are taking advantage of this to cause mayhem.
He reminded those behind the country’s security challenges to remember they will one day die leaving behind all the money they profited from troubling the nation.
He added that Nigerians should eschew self-centredness and be more concerned about others.
Arigbabuwo said if Nigerians seek the face of God, things will in time change for the better. He also advised the youths to correct the notion that they are lazy and be productive. He said they should stop waiting for what the country is going to do for them.
He charged them to invest in personal development and be creative by doing something.
“Everybody has something in him or her, but because we fail to recognise our talents, many people are being tormented,” he said.
He called on Nigerians to be law abiding because no citizen is above the law.
Speaking on Covid-19 pandemic in the country, the monarch called on all Nigerians to follow the safety measures put in place.
Arigbabuwo adviced the Yoruba in the Northern region to abide by the measures by wearing face masks, keeping social distance, avoiding crowded areas, and staying indoors as much as possible.
