In an effort to forestall the high level of insecurity situation in the country, an independent organizations, Global Initiative for African Organization Development (GIFAD) and the Political Leaders Advocacy Group (PLAG) are organizing a 3 days summit on the Theme: “Nigeria Security, Peace, Unity and National Reconciliation: challenges, Issues and way Forward”, the expected summit is scheduled to hold from 2nd-4th September 2019 in Abuja.
Chairman of PLAG, Onwubuya Breakforth, said the objective of the summit among other focus point is to set up and kick start a n national discourse on the dreadful security situation in Nigeria at the moment, to deliberate and proffer solutions on the incessant killings, Kidnapping and banditry ravaging the peace and the unity of the citizens of Nigeria and to review all the tenets of the policies proffered by government towards settling the problems of herders and farmers across the country.
The Chairman of GIFAD and the Chairman Summit Organizing Committee, Ambassador Johnson Adesida, said there is worsening security situation in the country such move them to organized the summit in partnership with other stakeholders like Government=t Agencies, Security organisations, civil society organization, security experts and MDAs so that we can collectively find an answer to the multiplying questions that is affecting Nigerian State with the vice president of the Federal republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osibanjo will be invited as a special guest. With other VIPs to join the discussion for a secure and better nation of ours.
