As part of its efforts to effective inform Abuja residents of the Continuous Voter Registration(CVR), the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has relerased the list of ward centres for the exercise in the territory.
This is contained in a public notice signed by Head of Voter Education and Publicity of the Commission, Mr. Okezie Nwankwo, in Abuja.
Nwankwo said that the people eligible to be captured in the exercise were those who had not registered and those that registered in 2011 but their names were not displayed.
The others were those that turned 18 since the last registration exercise in 2011, adding that double registration was not allowed.
He explained that FCT had 62 wards, which consisted of 10 wards each for Kuje, Gwagwalada, Bwari, Abaji and Kwali Area Council, while Municipal Council Area had 12 wards.
Nwankwo said: “these are the places where people are expected to go and register.
“INEC has mobilised men and materials to these centres and as we speak, there is a large turnout of people in all centres due to publicity carried out by the commission”, he stressed. (NAN)
