The National Director of Initiative for Muslim Women of Nigeria (IMWON) Mallama Rabiah Ahmad in a matter of urgency has appealed to the traditional rulers, Islamic clerics, scholars and women organizations to join forces with government in fighting against drug abuse in the state.
She made this call during 7th National Conference Meeting which was held in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday, lamenting over the high rate of drug abuse in the state most especially women.
She added that her foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization(NGO) and nonprofit organization which engaged in Islamic education and promotion of good governance, urged traditional rulers, Islamic clerics, scholars and women organizations to join forces with government and curb the menace.
The National Director explained that IMWON has constructed over 300 schools and 60 mosques across the States , saying that her foundation is committed to help and educate women and the less privilege people in the states .
Ahmed advised women to shone away from things that are contrary to teaching of prophet Muhammad SAW .
Delivery her speech, the state Ameerah ,Malama Hadiza Yahaya also appealed to Kebbi State Government for the allocation of land for the Foundation to build state office and school .
The Emir of Gwandu Muhammadu Bashar who was represented by Waziri Gwandu Alhaji Abdullahi Umoru commended the foundation for the laudable achievement by improving skill and welfare to our women in the state.
