Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed, has declared that he has not resigned or even contemplated resigning, contrary to reports in some quarters about his exit from President Goodluck Jonathan’s led administration.
He said that his tenure as minister is at the discretion of his principal, President Jonathan who appointed him as minister.
PeoplesDaily recalls that in what appears to be a subtle a valedictory remark, the minister had reportedly hinted at his exit when said he remains grateful to Mr. President for giving him the opportunity to be part of the team that contributed immensely to his transformation agenda.
However, Mohammed made this clarification yesterday, during a meeting with some community leaders from the FCT at his official residence in Life-Camp, Abuja.
“If Mr. President says that I should continue and stay here, of course I will do so. Any assignment he (President) gives me that I will carry out according to the will of Almighty Allah”, the minister was quoted in a statement signed by his SA on media, Nosike Ogbuenyi.
According to the Minister, the meeting was convened to create general awareness and sensitize people with a view to deepening the democratic process in the Territory.
In a remark, the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in FCT, Senator Alhaji Yunusa Suleiman also commended the Minister for his contribution in advancing the fortunes of the party at all levels.
