The committee, under the leadership of the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of operations force headquarters, Mr. Michael Zuokumor, led an open discussion with stakeholders, comprised of Miyetti Allah association, farmers, top government officials, as well as traditional rulers.
Speaking at the forum, the DIG condemned the recent massive killings of over 200 people in the state, saying such barbaric killings must stop. He frowned at the way people take the law into their hands, pointing out that the police would no longer tolerate such acts.
Zuokumor canvassed for harmonious and peaceful co-existence between the herdsmen and the farmers.
Declaring the occasion open, the state acting governor, Alh Ibrahim Wakkala said, as part of the state government’s effort, it has resolved to provide adequate security to its people.
He said in the past two and half years the state government had procured over 200 Hi-lux pick-up vans to the security agencies in the state.
